Martein van Wagenberg joined Rosewood Little Dix Bay in October 2005. Van Wagenberg is a seasoned Caribbean hotelier who brings more than 20 years of experience to his new role. For the previous eight years, he had been the General Manager of Grace Bay Club in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, where he developed the young property into an internationally recognized five-star resort. During his tenure there he oversaw the integration of residential and hotel facilities.
In 1995 van Wagenberg served as the Food & Beverage Director at Little Dix Bay. He began his career in Europe, holding management positions of increasing responsibility at The Hyde Park Hotel in London and The Grand Hotel in Amsterdam. Throughout his residency in the Caribbean, van Wagenberg has taken an active role in community and industry organizations. He has been a member of the Caribbean Hotel Association and the Turks & Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association since 1995, and in 2004, he served as Director of the Turks and Caicos Association.
Van Wagenberg was educated at the Hotel Management School in Maastricht, Netherlands as well as the premier U.S. hotelier program at Cornell University. His impressive educational background, ability to speak six languages, and extensive hospitality experience make him an invaluable asset as Little Dix Bay's host extraordinaire, constantly looking for new ways to serve the Rosewood guest. |
